EXILES Series- “The Fight To Remain Faithful” Pt. 1 1 Peter 1:1-12

If you haven’t noticed, the world can be a pretty hostile place to live… especially for a follower of Jesus. What are we to do? Worry? Whine? Cry foul… or have pity parties for ourselves? Do we sell everything we have and move to Montana in hopes that Jesus will return soon to rescue us from this crazy world? No… we live, just like Jesus told us to live… with abandon. Jesus told us to live as exiles. The word exile means expulsion from one’s native land by authoritative decree. This world may be your native home, but not your true home. Yet we are here and we are called to live here in holiness, regardless of our circumstances.
Warren Wiersbe once said,

“We have little control over the circumstances of life. We can’t control the weather or the economy, and we can’t control what other people say about or do to us. There is only one area where we have control–we can rule the kingdom inside. The heart of every problem is the problem in the heart.”

Faithfulness to Christ in this world is a fight! In our new #EXILES series, we’ll begin our journey on the road to holiness in a world of hostility. This Sunday we’ll look at 1 Peter 1:1-12, “The Fight To Remain Faithful”. Hope you can make it!
