One of my favorite movies growing up was Back To The Future with Michael J. Fox. It’s one of those movies that all the kids of the 80’s rave about. It’s about a small-town California teen, Marty McFly, who is thrown back into the ’50s when an experiment by his eccentric scientist friend, Doc Brown, goes awry. Traveling through time in a modified DeLorean car, Marty encounters young versions of his parents, and must make sure that they fall in love or he’ll cease to exist. Even more dauntingly, Marty has to return to his own time and save the life of Doc Brown. The theme of the movie can be summed up like this… what we do today, determines the person we will be tomorrow. Decisions are never without consequences. Peter is reminding those who are #EXILES to remember that the choices they are making today will determine what choices are available to them tomorrow. He is calling them to “A Future Worth Fighting For”. He reminds them of three things they need to keep in mind on the road to holiness in a world of hostility.
