Mechanical Christianity- “Powerless Prayer” James 5:13-20

Corrie Ten Boom once asked, “Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?” It’s a valid question… one that only you can really answer. If you could read a manuscript of your prayers last week, what would it say? Would it embarrass you? Would you make excuses? As James concludes his letter to the Jewish Christians who fled Jerusalem during the persecution of Stephen, he closes his letter by encouraging them to endure suffering with prayer, with praise, and to keep one another accountable. In this sermon we’ll conclude our ‪#‎MechanicalChristianity‬ series with a look at James 5:13-20, “Powerless Prayer”. Next Sunday we’ll begin our ‪#‎Runaway‬ series on Jonah, the story of a God Who runs after runaways!
