One of my favorite quotes is a quote from St. Augustine of Hippo, one of the early church fathers. He said,
“Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.”
We live in a world that is restless, noisy, chaotic, stressful, and at times, scary. Where can we find rest in such a restless world? How can we relax when we are living in a world inundated with cultural and societal pressures? David wrote in Psalm 23:2a, “He makes me to lie down in green pastures…”. Only a Good Shepherd knows His sheep. Only He knows how to provide them with the safety and surety of true rest. In this sermon we’ll continue our #Psalm23 series as we begin looking at verse 2, “A Sanctuary From Stress”.
