In Peter Jackson’s “The Return Of The King”, the third movie in JRR Tolkein’s Lord Of The Rings series, Pippin and Gandalf engage in the following conversation when Gondor is under attack and defeat seems imminent:
Pippin: “I didn’t think it would end this way…”
Gandalf: “End? No, the journey doesn’t end here. Death is just another path… one that we all must take. The gray rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all changes to silver glass… and then you see it.”
Pippen: “What? Gandalf? See what?”
Gandalf: “White shores… and beyond. The far green country under a swift sunrise.”
Pippin: “Well, that isn’t so bad.”
Gandalf: “No… no, it isn’t.”
It’s a beautiful, touching moment in gripping tale of adventure, friendship, and a test of one’s true courage. Heaven will be an incredible adventure. As we near the end of our #AFTERLIFE series, we’ll be looking at “Ten Biblical Descriptions Of Heaven”. What does the Bible say Heaven will be like?
