KING DAVID Series- “When Leaders Don’t Listen” 1 Chronicles 13

When addressing one of the many problems in our day and age, the great philosopher of the west, John Wayne, addressed the problem in a nutshell when he said, “You’re short on ears and long on mouth!” Far too often, we struggle with being good listeners. We’d rather be heard… we’d rather be the one doing all the talking. In 1 Chronicles 13, David is now king of Israel and instead of seeking wisdom from the Lord, he seeks counsel from the people and proceeds to make a foolish decision that cost a man his life. David became angry… angry at God.
Are you a good listener? Do you value the counsel of the Lord more than the counsel of men? In this sermon we look at four things that happen when we choose not to listen.
